Math Curriculum Overviews

Math

Children learn to develop their skills in number and the principles of shape, space and measurement and of handling data in a variety of situations.

There is a strong emphasis on developing mental mathematical skills and its practical application. There are also strong links between mathematics and all other curriculum areas as well as ICT. We believe that children should be given the opportunity to reach their full potential and therefore provide accelerated groups for high ability children in each year group. We also ensure all children are given extra support to help them gain confidence in the subject when necessary.
