Milk for All

Milk For All

What happens under the new school food standards?

From 1 January 2015, schools must make milk available for every child who wants it in primary schools, secondary schools, special schools and pupil referral units. The milk can be made available at lunchtime or at another time during the school day.

The scheme offers each pupil 189ml of milk at a subsidised price of 22p per child (over five years of age) per day. Children under five years old have milk free of charge, as do all those eligible to free school meals (as outlined above).

How do I register my child?

If your child is under five you do not need to do anything as the school is providing milk daily to all pupils

If your child is over five

Go to www.coolmilk.com Pay Cool Milk online, over the phone, at a local PayPoint or by cheque in instalments to suit you.  If registering online you can pay straight away, if using a registration form you will need to wait to receive a payment request. Just pay by a Tuesday for your child’s milk to start the following week. If you are registered for free school meals, and would like your child to have milk each day, please see Jenni in the school office.
