RRSA Article 3: All organisations concerned with children should work towards what is best for the children.

Dear Parents / Carers,

As the end of the school year is fast approaching, there is a lot going on at school so please keep an eye on the school calendar.

As I'm sure you have heard, schools meals for all KS2 pupils will be free of charge for the academic year (September 23 until July 2024).

Our processes remain the same which means that you will need to make a decision before we break up whether you wish your child to have a school meal or if you will be providing a packed lunch.

Whatever your decision you must stick to this for the entire half-term and cannot change until after the October half-term.

Please complete the slip at the end of this newsletter - alternatively, inform the office in writing (including child name and class), and return it to the school office with your decision before the end of the school year.

If we do not receive a response we shall presume that you do not wish your child to be provided with a school lunch.

After a very pleasing Ofsted inspection in March 2023 I'd like to say a massive thank you to all the staff, parents, Governors and pupils.

The report is available through the school website or by clicking the link below:

SUNSHINE!

With the beautiful summer sunshine comes the need to take precautions.

SUN CREAM

We recommend that you apply sun cream to your child/ren before they come to school. If that is not possible then they must be able to apply it themselves as each teacher cannot be responsible for creaming 30 children!

SUNHAT

We also suggest a named sunhat is put in your child’s bag and is in school each day, along with a bottle of water.

SUNGLASSES

Children are allowed to wear sunglasses, if necessary, while outside on the playground. They also must be named. Please be aware the school is not able to take responsibility for lost or broken glasses.

Reminder

For the safety of our pupils, it is policy that only Year 5 or 6 children – with parent permission only, can walk home alone. However, they will not be allowed to collect and bring younger siblings with them.

If you would like your Year 5 or 6 children to walk home alone then we require written permission from yourself.

We WILL NOT consider allowing younger pupils to walk home alone or with anyone under the age of 15 years of age!

Thank you
