RRSA Article 3: All organisations concerned with children should work towards what is best for the children.

Welcome Back!

I hope you had an enjoyable Easter break.

The year so far has been very busy, and this term is no different. SATs are fast approaching for Years 2 and 6 as well as testing for all other year groups. This is a very important time for both the pupils and the school, so I’d like to take this opportunity to remind parents that attendance is vital to effective learning and good progress. Please ensure that you do not book any appointments for your child between the 13th May and the 17th May.

The Year 4 multiplication tests will take place between the 5th and 7th June, so please ensure that if your child is in 4BO or 4PM they attend on these days.

Phonics Screening tests for all Year 1 pupils will take place between the 11th and 12th June with Year 2 retakes on the 13th June. Again, please ensure your child is at school during this time.

SCHOOLCOMMS (aka SCHOOL GATEWAY)

We still have a lot of parents who have not signed up to the app we use for parents to make payments for trips and clubs etc.

If you are experiencing difficulties with downloading / setting up the app, please come to see Jenni in the office, who will help you do this.

It's a really easy and convenient way to pay for school clubs etc.

LOST PROPERTY

We have a huge amount of lost property in the school office, including coats!

If your child is missing an item of clothing, please come and have a look to see if it is there.  Any clothing that is left over at the end of this week will go to the local Charity shop.

Please ensure that all items of clothing and plimsolls are marked clearly with your child's name and class. This helps us to return the items to their rightful owner.

Thank you.

The Fit4Life

A charter has been produced in conjunction with the London Borough of Harrow, the Public Health team and Harrow Education Partnership. This charter is a commitment from ALL Harrow schools to improve the health outcomes of its pupils.

As a parent of a Harrow pupil, it is expected that you uphold your section of this charter by pledging to:

  • Reduce the amount of sugary foods and drinks
  • Provide healthy snacks at the end of the school day
  • Exercise with children outside of school for at least 30 minutes a day – this could be as simple as a walk
  • Sign-up and regularly attend an NHS Dentist and ensure your child brushes their teeth at least twice a day.
  • Ensure your children are up-to-date with vaccinations
  • Talk to your children each day about how they are feeling and how their day went.

Health and Fitness must be a priority to help improve your children’s life chances.

In every newsletter we will be inserting a reminder of what we, as a school, will do to support the health and wellbeing of your child, as well as a reminder of your pledge as a parent.
